Community Wellbeing Fund
What is the Fund?
With launchpad donations from Here to Be and Agape Meditation, our Community Wellbeing Fund enables us to expand our service to those who need it most—providing free or subsidised programs to community-led organisations and groups for whom funding is a barrier.
In 2024, the Fund enabled 288 people in under-resourced communities to attend programs through their service providers. These programs were delivered on psychiatric inpatient units of multiple hospitals, at long-term residential facilities for people with acute mental health distress, a minimum-security prison, at a school for young women recently arrived in Australia of refugee background, at a service for transgender and gender diverse young people, and in a trauma recovery group.
The Fund also enabled 12 people to join our public courses for free.
Donations to the Fund are currently open to help drive this important work forward.
How It Works
Our mindfulness and movement-based programs have been designed to support the mental and physical health of children, young people and adults in a variety of settings, including clinical, community-centred and complex environments.
In partnership with successful Fund recipients, we co-design and co-facilitate an 8-week program to intentionally meet community needs.
Adapted to meet diverse accessibility, inclusion, and cultural needs, our programs support participants to:
Learn somatic tools and strategies to support their mental and physical health
Learn strategies for stress relief and nervous system regulation
Practice choice-making and autonomy in a group setting
Increase awareness of feelings or sensations in their body
Socially engage with others in a non-judgemental, welcoming space
Who Is Eligible?
This opportunity is specifically designed for under-resourced, grassroots, and community-led organisations for whom funding is a barrier to accessing our services.
Additionally, we have a small number of subsidised programs available for organisations who are more resourced, but budget-constrained.
