Our Program Model
At Collective Being, we believe that individuals and communities are the experts in their own care and wellbeing. That’s why our programs are delivered in partnership with local community and health services—to ensure they’re accessible, inclusive, and relevant.
Using a body-based, trauma-informed approach, our programs support people to feel connected, well, and thriving:
Connected: To the resources, tools, and support needed for wellbeing
Well: Physically, socially, and emotionally
Thriving: Living a full, embodied, and connected life
We also recognise that chronic stress, trauma, and mental ill-health are shaped by systemic and structural conditions. That’s why we advocate for our programs to be included in complex and involuntary settings, and for all care sector workers to have access to professional development in trauma-informed, body-centred practice.
Our Approach
Body-Based
Our body-based approach focuses on nervous system regulation and the reclamation of agency, safety and rest after stress and trauma, through evidence-informed mindfulness and movement-based practices.
Trauma-Informed
We acknowledge the diverse and painful experiences of trauma endured by people and communities. Our trauma-informed approach supports participants to heal and build resilience. We resist re-traumatisation by applying an intersectional, relational and systemic lens to our work.
Community-Centred
Research shows that we stay well together. We utilise an evidence-based therapeutic groupwork model that supports people to build resilience, reconnect with their bodies, and strengthen their mental health, together.
