Our Programs
We believe that wellbeing is a right, not a privilege. However, the increasing privatisation and commercialisation of wellbeing services means that far too many people in our community are excluded from the resources and supports that they need to be well.
To fill this gap, Collective Being co-designs and delivers wellbeing programs in partnership with community and health services. Grounded in trauma-informed care and mindfulness, our program design is informed by a rich evidence-base regarding mental health and somatic (body-based) interventions.
To deliver our programs, we rely on a skilled team of facilitators who are expert and experienced in:
trauma-sensitive and mental health aware facilitation;
co-design with partner organisations and participants;
adaptation of our programs for diverse cohorts
collaboration with interpreters;
clinical and complex medical settings; and
facilitation of practices accessible to the wide-ranging and diverse mobility needs of participants.
Wellbeing Programs
Wellbeing is crucial across the life span. We work with children as young as 5 through to elders in their 80s, catering our programs to meet the unique needs of each age group and community.
→ Foundations Course
Foundations for Embodied Wellbeing is Collective Being’s introductory somatic course. Facilitated over six-weeks, this course introduces participants to a somatic framework for wellbeing, anchored in body-mind strategies for nervous system regulation and embodied resilience. This course has no prerequisite knowledge and is open to all.
→ Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Program
Our Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Program is specifically designed for complex and clinical settings. Informed by empirically-validated approaches to facilitation and drawing on six years of service delivery experience across hospital, mental health and survivor-oriented sectors, our facilitators are highly skilled at adapting programs to meet the needs of specific client groups.
→ Soma Play Children’s Program
Soma Play is a somatic groupwork program that encourages creativity, play, movement and mindfulness – all skills that support children to be healthy, resilient and connected. This program is for children aged 5-12 years.
→ Soma Skills Youth Program
Soma Skills is a somatic groupwork program that supports young people aged 13 - 25 to explore strategies for self-regulation, stress-relief and social connection. Soma Skills is co-designed with young people to meet their wellbeing needs.
We believe that a healthy and thriving community is one that has free, accessible and low-cost wellbeing activities available for all people. In support of community wellbeing, our team also facilitates a range of accessible public programs and events, including:
in-person and online Trauma Sensitive Yoga Programs
online Community Care Practices
in-person collaborative events with partner organisations, including the City of Melbourne, Immigration Museum, neighbourhood houses and local councils.
